The next day began with an amazing visit to waterfalls located in Thiruvananthapuram. Early morning I, along with my family, began our journey from the Kovalam Beach hotel to the most beautiful waterfalls in Kerala in the car arranged by the hotel. After a trek of two kilometers through vast forests, we reached Kallar, which is known for its round boulders and pebbles. Trekking further through a small track, we reached the gigantic waterfalls, Meenmutty and further two kilometers away, we saw Kombaikani waterfalls. Both the waterfalls are located at an exotic location between the upper reaches of the Neyyar reservoir in the district. The surrounding areas offered an invigorating and unique experience. We clicked many photographs of the breathtaking and enthralling scene. On the way to waterfall we had also seen many bird and plant life, which even included the different and rare species of butterfly.
After this, I decided to visit Thirparappu, which is quite famous for its beautiful waterfalls. Though it took us many hours, it finally fulfilled my wish to visit the southernmost tip of India and experience the beauty of nature. The waterfalls in Kerala are easily accessible and hence, have become very popular and demanding tourist picnic spots.
The different waterfalls in Kerala enticed us to explore them. But without proper guidance it could become hazardous. Thirparappu Waterfalls is 300 feet in length and consists of stony and rocky riverbed. It falls from a height of 50 feet and the bed on which it falls has become a rocky mass. On the riverside is located a Lord Shiva temple. There is also a cave temple near it, which belongs to the age of Chola kingdom.
After the enthralling experiences, we decided to book a hotel near these amazing nature’s creations. I booked the hotel with consultation from my friend’s trip advisory. I was blown away because we got the room that overlooked the falls. It was awesome and the scene was spectacular. My kids described the scene as stunning while my husband claimed it to be breathtaking. Well for myself I was speechless. These had been some of the best and relaxing days of our lives and I really enjoyed the experience.
