Experience the Next-Generation Technology at Sathyam Cinemas, Chennai

I was well set to go for more entertainment and that time it was by watching a movie at the Sathyam Cinemas. Researching about it, I learned that it is owned by SPI Cinemas, which is known for its major role in the entertainment industry bringing services such as showing new movies other than distributing and producing them.

SPI Cinemas recognizes them with three brands such as Sathyam, Escape, and Luxe. Of these Sathyam Cinemas has its presence in Chennai since 1974. Bagging a few credits of being the first company to have a multiplex and the latest screens of DCI-complaint, it is also known to be the first to install the Dolby Atmos and Auro 3D in India.

The kids were thrilled to travel to watch a movie and we had to reach Thiru-vi-ka Road in Royapettah, which is just 12 to 15 minutes of travel via Langs Garden Road. We had booked tickets for Broken Horses, which was a recent film directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra and released on the 10th of April 2015.

The complex is spread over six levels with many facilities. The movie halls are categorized as Studio 5, Seasons, 6Degrees, Sathyam, Serene, and Santham. The movie we had planned to watch was scheduled at 10.20 am in Studio 5. Since we were early at the place, we had ample time to go around the building.

At the Level 1, we saw Magic Hat, a day care facility that took care of the children when the parents are out for a few hours either going shopping or watching a movie. Next, we saw a bakeshop, Ecstasy offering the best brewed coffee. Then, we walked to the next level to find an ice cream parlor, E18hteen Below offering a variety of natural gourmet ice cream (vegetarian).

The next three levels, 4, 5 and 6, made my kids shrill with excitement as they were occupied by Blur, a gamer’s paradise. I saw a lot of arcade games, which featured games played using vintage and modern machines. Other than these, there was a gaming store and a bowling alley. The place was filled with children and a lot of excitement was going on.

We saw a few restaurants and café offering multi-cuisine dishes, both vegetarian and non vegetarian, pizzas, chocolate crumble, and many more. By then, it was show time and we found ourselves seated in the Studio 5.

The movie was good and we left the place to reach our next destination.
